Buzios Brazil

Buzios is called the St Tropez of Brazil after Brigitte Bardot stayed in 1964.  The peninsula has developed from a quiet string of isolated fishing villages into one the countries stylish low-key resorts.
A few streets back from the beach is the small town with its cobblestoned streets, Boutiques and restaurants.
The man above had just completed a beautiful sandcastle. He was very happy to pose for me but asked for $2 Reais which I thought was well deserved with the work that went into it and I presumed thats probably how he earns an income.

Below are a few snaps of the town and beach.

There were many beautiful boutiques but I didn't venture in because of the heat and humidity. It certainly puts a damper on clothes shopping with a damp and sticky body that was plastered with insect repellent and none of the shops were air conditioned. The mosquitos were in full force here.

The Arte Rock Cafe was pretty bright and looked like a fun place to sit for a coffee but it was having renovations done.
 Bronze statue of Brigitte Bardot.

These fishermen statues made a very realistic display in the water. If the seagulls were waiting for them to haul their net in for an easy feed then I think they would go hungry!!!
Fun Art in a small shopping area.

We really enjoyed Buzios although neither of us do this kind of heat very well. Tomorrow we leave for the small island of Cabo Frio which we are hoping just may be a few degrees cooler.
