Flam, Skjolden, Norway.

Flam is a very small town tucked away at the end of Norways deepest and longest fjord. Very tranquil with steep mountainsides, waterfalls and narrow valleys.

The fjord of Naeroyfjord is the most beautiful and wildest arm of the Naerofjord and a world heritage site. It is 17 km long and the narrowest point is only 250 metres wide with amazing steep cliffs above us. A most spectacular sight.

One of Norways newest tourist boats for viewing fjords with its staggered zig zag walkways for easy viewing where everyone gets a view. Very state of the art.

As we came out of the fjord we stopped in the small town of Gudvangen.

 Tourist accommodation.

 More reflection beauty in Flam.

In Skjolden we rented a car and english speaking driver with two other couples and drove up to the Jotunheimen National Park in southern Norway, which is home to Norways highest mountain peak.  Above is a view we had of the valley below as we wound our way up the through the mountains until we came to the ' roof of the world ' and all of a sudden the landscape changed to stoney barren land with many lakes. It  had a beauty of its own.

Gjende lake, looking towards the Fanaraken Glacier where the cloud lifted right on cue for us to get photos.

Looking very gloomy but the rain luckily held off.

 Cotton weed growing wild.

We stopped for a toilet break and found the very interesting interior of this hotel with this wooden walkway for great viewing.
