Jotunheimen National Park, Skjolden continued

The stone sculpture in Mefjellet makes an ideal frame for a quick snap.

There were an abundance of rock sculptures around just to make the landscape more interesting.

The colours of the flora was so pretty, all blending in together.

On and on these warm colours just got better and better.

Time for a coffee stop half way down. The owners of the cafe had picked a bunch of wildflowers to display on the counter. Somehow I think they came from further down the valley.

Then we spot a sculpture of a different kind, and this time its quite amusing. Carved out of wood, its a giant trolls hand.  Trolls traditionally only have four fingers and four toes on each limb.

Very impressive piece of carving.

Back in Trondheim we stopped for lunch at the hotel at the end of town. Beautiful view. The end of season has hit now and the tiny town was almost completely empty of tourists.

 Main Street in town.

Then a final walk back to the Ship on Norwegian soil as its off to Lerwick in the Shetland Islands, Scotland tomorrow.

We have absolutely loved Norway and it is sad to say goodbye. So much like NZ in many ways but on a much larger scale.
Its a very safe country with crime and murder rates being low. They have a freedom to roam  and you can  pitch a tent or hike through any land that is not cultivated.

The things I most loved were the happy and courteous people, forests and lakes, huge and steep fjords, the brightly painted buildings, long tunnels, spectacular bridges and of course all the trolls.
